St Kitts-Nevis not eligible for UK’s $550 million Caribbean aid package

St Kitts and Nevis is not eligible to tap into the £360 million (US$550 million) aid package that the UK government is gearing up to invest in the region. The aid will be pumped into infrastructure initiatives in the ODA (official development assistance) countries : Jamaica, Guyana, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Government of Dominica has received a shipment of medical supplies amounting to US$23,163.52, courtesy of the Federative Republic of Brazil on Wednesday. The shipment includes medicines, anti-tuberculosis medication, gloves for medical procedures, disposable masks, among other medical supplies.

Castries man sentenced to 20 years for sex with minors

On Wednesday 30th September 2015, George Jn Baptiste of Maynard Hill, Castries was sentenced at the High Court of Justice by the Honourable Justice Francis Cumberbatch to 20 years imprisonment for the offence of Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with a minor female aged seven (7) years ; seven (7) years imprisonment for the offence of Gross Indecency with a minor female aged ten (10) years and five (5) years imprisonment each on two counts of Unlawful Sexual Connection with minor females aged seven (7) years and eleven (11) years respectfully.
