Delivering his address for the Public Service Awards and Recognition Ceremony, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said that the public service plays a critical role in ensuring proper systems are put in place to strengthen the country’s preparation and response mechanisms to natural events. He also called them to identify and implement new responses and strategies to combat the likely effects impacts on globalization on the economy.

On Tuesday 6th December 2016, the Joseph N. France General hospital saw the opening of the first Oncology Unit in Saint Kitts . It has been described as the “dawn of a new and brighter day for cancer care in the Federation”.
