Ten percent of Budget for Crime Fight

Climatologist warns region of correlation between increased temperatures and health problems

A senior climatologist at the Barbados-based Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH), says there is a correlation between the increase in temperatures and health problems in the region but that the empirical data is lacking. Dr. Cedric Van Meerbeeck tells the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC) that the CIMH has begun gathering data on heat sensation and can now provide a three month forecast of the heat levels for Caribbean countries.

NHC Bankrupt, Unable to Pay Its Debts

At a press conference on Tuesday, the Chairman announced that the NHC is broke and cannot honour its debt. He puts the blame squarely on the shoulders of the previous administration citing the bad house and land deals that it mad with foreign companies.
