While a number of countries in the Caribbean, including Dominica and Barbados, are signaling their intention to embrace Hydroponics in the cultivation of agriculture products on a large scale, the farmers in St. Kitts and Nevis are not being receptive to this soilless growth of plants. Hydroponics is the soilless growth of plants, it is the cultivation of plants by placing the roots in liquid nutrients solutions rather than in soil.

It is with profound sadness that the Government of Saint Lucia has learnt about the passing of Sir Kenneth Dwight Vincent Venner, KBE, SLC, and the former Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB). The Government joins the people of Saint Lucia in mourning the death of this great man who contributed so much to the development of Saint Lucia and the Eastern Caribbean. Prime Minister Allen Chastanet has noted that the Caribbean has lost an “unparalleled genius” and that the death of Sir Dwight has sent shockwaves throughout our region.
Note : L’annonce du décès de Sir Dwight Venner est reprise dans la plupart des médias de la région, qui soulignent la stature exceptionnelle du disparu et rapportent les condoléances exprimées au plus haut niveau par les pays de la région.

Call of the Surveillance Frigate “Ventôse” of the French Navy to Saint Lucia

The surveillance frigate “Ventôse” of the French Navy will be making a courtesy call to Saint Lucia from Thursday 29th to Friday 30th December 2016. The vessel will be anchored at Rodney Bay from Thursday at 9:00 a.m. until midday the following day.
